Company is coming so it is time to spruce up the boat. We are all pitching in and cleaning it from top to bottom, inside and out. Matt has been working his fanny off washing and waxing the boat.
It was fun to watch the sea gull perched on the pylon. He watched Matt while he was waxing the boat. After Matt was done he looked at the bird as if to say, “I dare you!”
After a hard day of working we went over to Paradise Island to Violas for dinner, and the Green Parrot for drinks. While we were walking we saw people getting ready for a Junkaroo Show at Atlantis. Matt ran over and was able to take a few pictures.
We met some great people from Northern Virginia Ann and Mike on Traveling Soul. Ann and I snuck off and went shopping, while Bill worked on Mike’s inverter and wiring problems. In order to get to the mall we took a taxi ride with Mr. Moss. The main store we hit was similar to a Walmart in the States they had groceries, clothing, hardware and electronics. What more could you ask for; it was like being back in the States!
Today, February 15th our first set of company arrived. Jen and Michael from EZ Cruz Marina were vacationing in Freeport, but took a flight over to spend the night with us! Our first stop was at Twin Brothers at Potters Cay. It is walking distance from the boat. There we enjoyed conch salad and their famous daiquiris. Then we hit the famous Poop Deck. They have menus and pictures tacked on the wall signed by people that have eaten there. Some names I recognized were Shaquille O’Neil, Sean Connery, Jessica Simpson, Brooke Shields, etc. They have a unique list of drinks offered. The bar is a very popular meeting pace. I wonder why!
Michael, Jen, Bill and Matt walked over to Johnny’s later that evening where a live band was playing. Johnny’s is a popular hangout for both boaters and the local crowd. During the night we had a horrific rainstorm with lots of wind. When we got up I noticed one of Jen’s sandals fell off the dock into the water. Michael jumped in the water and was able to retrieve her sandal (Jen’s hero). Low and behold there was a small starfish holding onto the sandal. I believe the pictures below will tell the story.
